The Ultimate Escape for Two
Somehow, your relationship survived the silly season, despite awkward family dinners and tangled fairy lights. You may even make it through the back-to-reality blues, but why wait? You deserve some time out together, a chance to reignite any flickering sparks and celebrate all the reasons why you fell in love in the first place. Fiji is the ultimate destination for a loved-up getaway, so stop dreaming and start planning as we serve you up this perfectly romantic wanderlust cure!
The minute you step off the plane it hits you: that warm feeling that tells you you’re somewhere else, someplace new and different and exciting. That, and the physical warmth of Fiji’s tropical, eternal-summer climate. Not to mention the warmth of the Fijian people themselves, from the very first ‘bula’ that comes even before you’ve left the tarmac. Your answering smile is wide—all that sunshine must be infectious—as you take your partner’s outstretched hand. The My Fiji concierge greets you with thoughtful gifts and a refreshing drink, before your hotel transfer whisks you away from the airport in style.
Twenty minutes later you pull up to The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa on Denarau Island, where palms and frangipanis sway gently in the sea breeze, revealing thatched bures and oceanfront luxury all under an endless azure sky. You settle into your room but, despite its air-conditioned comfort, the day is too beautiful to be spent inside! You and your love wander through the lush meditation gardens before taking a rejuvenating dip in one of the pools. That evening you’re welcomed the Fijian way, with a meke lovo show at Coco Palms. There’s the wow-factor of firewalking, traditional dance, music, and storytelling, as well as a deliciously authentic feast fit for kings and queens. End your first day in paradise with a moonlit stroll along the beach, before retreating to your room for a blissful night’s sleep wrapped in each other’s arms.
Though the stunning ocean vista from your king-size bed tempts you to stay, there’s just far too much adventure to be had. After sharing a casual breakfast at the Ocean Terrace you leave the resort and explore the rest of Denarau Island, fitting in as much golf, shopping, and water sports as you can, before your transfer to Tokoriki Island. You’ve read about it—a slice of paradise within the Mamanucas, a group of volcanic islands known for their perfect beaches and vibrant reefs. As the speedboat skims across turquoise waters, you’re already beginning to unwind, thinking of the chances you’ll have to bond at the exclusive adults-only resort, free from the distractions of the outside world. And then you see it: a romantic beachside sanctuary, surrounded by tropical gardens and with views for days. The first thing you do after check-in is curl up together in a hammock, watching as the sunset turns the sea to liquid gold.
DAYS THREE TO SIX
You spend your days in paradise exploring the gorgeous reefs and beaches, playing together in water that’s every shade of blue, and making the most of the outdoor courts and water sports. You go kayaking one day (with many ‘accidental’ tips) and learn to windsurf the next. At night you celebrate your love at with teppanyaki at Oishii, meeting a few other guests while you savour traditional Japanese flavours in a Fijian oasis, or swing side-by-side in a hammock, stargazing. You island-hop to check out nearby Monuriki, the uninhabited island made famous by Tom Hanks in Castaway, and your love surprises you with a secluded picnic and a bottle of Moët on Monu Island—because you still can’t get enough of each other. On your last day on Tokoriki you decide to treat yourselves to a couples’ massage at the spa, relaxing and indulging side-by-side.
Sun-kissed, blissed-out, and stronger than ever, you and your partner take the transfer back to the mainland. You stop in at Jack’s of Fiji in Port Denarau to pick up some last-minute reminders of all the memories you’ve made on your romantic escape to Fiji, and maybe a little something special—like Tahitian black pearls or a bottle of scent that will forever remind you of days spent in sun.
